The following is a public statement by Daniel Kjellsson, Managing Director of Future Talent Council, in regard to the coronavirus and its current implications around the world. You can access the originally distributed version here.

Dear all,

Today we have made the decision to postpone Future Talent Summit 2020.

You are all well-read on the coronavirus and its current implications around the world. Our thoughts and priorities are with everyone affected, directly and indirectly, and we are following developments carefully to determine how our organization and global ecosystem can be of the best service.

“We are accelerating efforts and investments into virtual meetings and digital content formats. We aim to be more present than ever.”

As of today almost all of us are operating under some kind of travel restrictions, and more than half of you of whom I have been in contact with during the past week have declared it “unlikely” or “very unlikely” that you will be able to confirm travel and conference participation within four weeks.

Therefore we have made the decision of postponing Future Talent Summit 2020 until later this year.

We pride ourselves on building the most action-oriented ecosystem of global talent leaders dedicated to helping improve human capability and opportunity. As of this particular moment in history, and according to the best of our ability, that means temporarily not getting on airplanes, not getting together.

We are set to shortly confirm a new date for Future Talent Summit 2020 later in the year. We will ask for your input on this decision, and we will ask you to co-select it with us.

“Once we meet later this year, for the much-anticipated Future Talent Summit 2020, our joint ecosystem will be ambitious.”

We are also accelerating efforts and investments into virtual meetings, digital content formats, and strategy conference calls. In a time where most of us are forced to decrease the level of human interaction, we aim to be more present than ever.

One of our immediate next actions is to connect with you individually. We aim to even better understand how we as a membership organization, and all of your fellow global talent leaders, can better support you in your work right now and going forward.

Then we will start investing in that intelligence, those networks, and solutions most relevant to you. Once we meet later this year, for the much-anticipated Future Talent Summit 2020, our joint ecosystem will be more ambitious than ever.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,

Daniel Kjellsson
