The Board aims to provide practical advice and guidance to maximize the positive benefits, and to prepare all stakeholders, so that talent is positively equipped for lives and careers in a world where, increasingly, success will be determined by how well we collaborate with machines and technology.

2019/20 AI Working Group: Ethical AI
Within the talent market, there is a proliferation of applicant tracking tools and AI-enabled tools to support human talent selection. Setting the parameters to avoid accidental bias and to ensure ethical and practical application of AI functionality demands a clear understanding of the potential pitfalls, challenges, and opportunities of AI-led automated systems. This working group aims to do the following:
- To explore the potential ethical, legal, social and humanitarian influences on HR decisions to use AI for human talent selection.
- To provide examples of best practice application of AI tools in the world of human talent selection, including enhancing candidate satisfaction through a mix of high tech, high touch recruitment.
- To create a set of supporting guidelines for potential users, purchasers and developers of AI-based human talent selection tools. These guidelines are intended to inform and advise on key principles and attributes of ethical and unbiased AI systems to support talent selection.
The report created by the Ethical AI working group will be presented at Future Talent Summit 2020 for validation and approval.
